Singapore Fashion Festival

Due to rain affecting Pogi's fashion show, I thought it would be ideal to pimp out the Singapore Fashion Festival, which began as soon as I arrived in SG (23-03).

What a coincidence?

Do you believe me now that Pogi is fashion? har har har

XD

---

Most of the festival included public fashion shows such as the one below, where designers labels lay their season gear on models, whilst they strut their stuff on a catwalk.

There were also massive sales from all the clothing boutiques around Singapore. Good timing for Pogi. XD

As you can see it is far from any
real fashion shows such as Dior Homme FW 2007, but what do you expect? It's Singapore, not really a fashion capital of the world, or Asia as a matter of fact.

---

Due to a local friend in media/marketing, I was able to view the Marc by Marc Jacobs show in some place called Nee Amn City (sp?) and it was nice, a decent line in fact.

I did my best to look fashionable by wearing Revoltage jeans, Domanchi blazer, G2000 dress shirt and a Fox longsleeve. No shoes!? Just kidding, I had some Vans prison issues.

I got to mingle with the locals, check out cute models, and guess which guests were designers, journalists or tourists (like me!).

One thing though that my friend mentioned was, that there was no freebie bag?! She said usually these designer fashion shows give out freebie bags that contain various label related freebies.

I guess Marc chumped out on this show.

Oh wells. At least the experience was good as it was my first ever fashion show attendance.

Fashion show - day 2

What an amazing start to Pogi's fashion show thus far. *rolleyes*

Remember those fabulous suits I featured in my previous posts? I found something similar at Zara in Singapore. It is of slim fit design, two button (not the one button [-_-]), and cropped. Just the way I like it.

Unfortunately, not exactly like the Dior Homme variant but close enough. I would've had a tailored suit made but I wasn't staying in SG long enough.

Here it is. Please ignore the silly posing but I couldn't resist comparing my poses to the model's.

Sexy, no?

---

Ugly ass fashion

Now here is some damning proof that no matter how much an item of clothing costs, it doesn't prove that it is good fashion; and also that designers, can get it wrong sometimes, if not, most times.

A good example is this grey top I found in at a Burberry store in SG.

uurrgghhh

I don't mind the colour and style except for those nasty ass, tacky plastic gems. It just does not belong on this top, or in my opinion, it does not belong on clothes. I'd like to see it look good on a piece somewhere, but so far I can't think of any from the top of my head.

The price tag was SG$1200. Need I say more?

Mischa, why must you follow me everywhere?

Pogi's fashion show - day 1

Been love sick all this week and the weather has not been helpful, so I've had limited time in the office, hence, little need to dress up for work. But today I was in.

Weather: 17-25 degrees, cloudy - late showers.
Top: Puritan + Dickies singlets, G2000 white shirt, Fox long sleeve black tee, Ray Bans sunglasses (Father's hand me down), necklaces from SG and PHL, Tag Heuer wristwatch.
Bottom: Zara black trousers (slim fit), Florsheim black leather shoes (not pictured).

Food: fish & chips from Nth Syd, Super Slurpee Coca Cola from 7-11

Welcome home....

Pogi is back in Sydney!

(*^.^*)

I arrived Monday morning at 6am. *yawn* Luckily I skipped work that day, I barely had any sleep.

But wow, great to be back in Sydney, I missed the cooler weather here, plus my family and friends. I will definitely miss Singapore though. *cries* Don't worry, I'll be back there soon.

Due to impulse shopping, I errrr exceeded the weight and space limit of my luggage. Luckily Li Wee arranged for a DHL courier to send half my clothes back to Sydney. And it arrived yesterday!

Yehey!!

What surprises lie inside?

Surprise #1

Aren't those Vans so pretty? Got em from Check at The Heeren, awesome shopping place as it also have Queens Couture which stocks raw denim in the form of cheap monday, sugarcane, samurai, tsubi, etc.

---

I'm so glad to be back though. It's good to be back to reality here in Sydney but I'm sure gonna miss my hotel.

I loved the laundry service (which I abused), room service, and the birds that chirp every morning to wake me up.

*sigh*

Will post more pix once I sort through my shopping haul. :)
